Gardening has surged in popularity over the last year with searches for “garden ideas” from January to March 2021 increasing by 165 percent compared to the same period in 2020. Britons reportedly also spend a whopping 5,675 hours over their lifetime tending to their garden, highlighting just how important plants and greenery is across the nation. But gardening supplies can be expensive – especially over the summer months when your plants require more care.
Two tablespoons of fried oats on your plants’ soil once a month can give them a new lease of life.
Glass bottles can be used if you’re ever leaving your plants for a long period of time.
Fill them up and stick them straight into the soil upside down.
The glass bottle will drip feed them water when they need it.
If you don’t have an outdoor tap, you can use vinegar to give your outdoor paving a clean instead.
All you need is water, white vinegar and a gardening brush.
Mix half white vinegar and water together in a bucket or spray bottle.
Allow the solution to sit for 20 minutes on your paving before rinsing it away.
