It is April and I am so excited that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Not meaning to sound political (just whole-heartedly appreciative) but the current administration has done such an amazing job at getting out the vaccinations to the people of the United States. Originally Biden had hoped to have everyone vaccinated in July but now his goal is May, and this goal is looking achievable.
On a local level I really want to give a HUGE shout out to Joan Churchill, the CEO of Alliance Medical Center. This woman, along with Chief Medical Officer Susanna Labbe, have changed our little world. In Windsor they have utilized the Huerta Gym to help vaccinate seniors, educational staff, agricultural, grocery, and restaurant workers. Soon they will include hotel staff.
Joan and Sue have teamed up with the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and other small chambers to focus on Windsor, Healdsburg and Geyserville. It has been an honor and privilege, for me, to have the opportunity to work with these women to help facilitate so many people to get their first and second doses of the vaccine into the arms of these essential workers (really our local warriors) who keep our town alive and well.
It heals my heart that our community has worked so hard to be brave and strong, and that business owners like David and Kathy Culley of KC’s American Kitchen, Bishnu Pandey owner of Himalayan Restaurant, and Leah Scurto of PizzaLeah, to name only a few, can stop worrying that they or one of their staff will get become ill due to COVID-19.
We all have a duty to wear our masks, remain socially distant and to wash our hands, BUT we are seeing that light at the end of the tunnel getting brighter every day!
With all that said here are a few things coming your way here in Windsor:
